Known as the "Velvet Hammer" and the "Conduit" in business and in service, and the "Quiet Force" among her Civil Rights and Social Justice movement family, Kennetta - Renee "K. Renee" Robertson is an authentic, fiduciary servant leader with over 32 years of demonstrated experience and lover and performer of the arts.

K. Renee’ has successfully built strategic relationships, impactful movements and leads in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. She works with entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, growing businesses, and billion-dollar companies. K. Renee’ has been featured on or has been quoted by CNN, CBS, New York Times, Ebony Magazine for her long standing and sought after expertise in Justice. Equality, Diversity, Inclusion (J.E.D.I) and Global Social and Outreach since 1992.

THE ACTIVIST

Serving over 32 years in community organizing, civil rights and social justice, she has a heart for all people and is a seasoned leader. 

K. Renee' is also humbled to have sat at the feet of, and to have been directly mentored by some of the most impactful game changers and servant leaders. Some of which include the legendary  Nina Simone, James Brown, Dr. Amelia Boynton-Robinson,  Ambassador Andrew Young, Hosea Williams, Rev. Joseph Lowery, Dr. Maya Angelou,  and countless others.

She served as the National Director of Public Affairs and Media for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), which was formed in 1957 by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and lead in continuing the legacy of women of the Civil Rights Movement as the Executive Director of SCLC/WOMEN, Incorporated. 

She currently serves as an United Nations Charter President and she is the Vice-President for the A.D. King Foundation, (brother of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) which was founded by Dr. Naomi Barber-King in honor of her husband's work and their family legacy.

With the guidance of her mentor, Dr. Amelia Boynton-Robinson and the inspiration of Dr. Bernard and Kate LaFayette and Ambassador Andrew Young, K. Renee' founded the rebirth of Resurrection City, an grass-roots global initiative. K. Renee' is also honored to serve on several Board of Directors and Advisory Boards.

 

THE ARTIST

K. Renee' is a producer, author, radio/multi-media personality, sought-after emcee, professionally trained dancer and singer/songwriter with a soulful range from mezzo-soprano to contralto.

As a 12-time scholarship pageant queen and the first African-American to represent Strom Thurmond High School as Miss Statesman in 1989, she went on to become Miss Paine College, Miss Black USA, International, as well as multiple other scholarship titles.

She continued to employ all her talents, skills, and abilities to empower others; she inspired, educated youth and the community while serving as the Director of the Maya Angelou Performing Arts Center with the inspirational influence of Dr. Maya Angelou, Ambassador Andrew Young and Dr. Walter Young.

 

THE EXECUTIVE

K. Renee' thrives on helping individuals, corporations, and organizations reach their core objectives, fulfill their mission—their "why"—and  meet their targets with organizations and companies such as the United Nations, GoDaddy, the CDC, Travel + Leisure Co., and the NFL, among others. 

She is the founder and CEO of Leaders and Legends Worldwide. It's subsidiary, The Leaders and Legends Organization, founded in 2008 has built many initiatives and programs and partnered with grass-roots and global organizations and corporations.

 

THE WOMAN

Mother of one adult daughter, ovarian cancer survivor, and brain tumor survivor, K. Renee' is a fighter. She inspires thousands in her online and social communities to be unstoppable through Christian faith, family, divine purpose, focus, and laughter. 

As a small town-raised South Carolinian with a strong family foundation of Christian spiritual leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, and Gullah Geechee and Native American culture, she continuing the legacy of her paternal and maternal grandparents and her great-grandparents, all who were massive landowners dating back to 1899.

Kennetta-Renee' and her daughter also continue the legacy of her parent’s 46-year-old plumbing company.

K. Renee is an intentional life-time learner and doer. She has earned, as well as been honored with two doctoral degrees for her work and service and is currently a J.D. Candidate - 2026.
